Something went wrong. Here is the fix.

Three problems account for nearly everything people write in about. Try the matching fix first — each takes under a minute. If none of them is your problem, write to us and a person will read it.

The microphone is blocked

If the screen says the microphone was refused, the browser is holding the door, not the site. In Chrome, click the icon at the right of the address bar and set Microphone to Allow, then reload the page. On iPhone it is Settings, then Safari, then Microphone.

Other things that look like a blocked microphone: another tab or app already has it (close the call), a desktop with no microphone at all, or a headset the system has not switched to. And if you would rather not use a microphone, you can type your two notes instead and still get the result and the card.

The result is an octave off, or the squeak counted

A note only counts after two steady seconds inside a quarter tone, and anything outside C2 to C6 is thrown out, so a genuine squeak should never reach your result. When one does, it is almost always a very quiet low note being heard an octave up, or a very breathy top note being heard an octave down.

Sing "aaah" rather than humming, hold it steady until the ring closes, and give it a bit more volume than feels natural. A quiet room helps more than an expensive microphone. Warm up first: a cold voice reads two or three semitones short at both ends, and retesting warm is often the whole fix.

Your result names anything that was discarded, so you can see what the test refused. If a note you can genuinely hold keeps getting thrown out, send us the result link and say what you sang.

The card will not save

On a phone, saving opens the system share sheet — pick Save Image or Save to Photos there. If nothing appears, the browser blocked it because too long passed between your tap and the card being drawn; tap Save again and leave the page alone while it draws.

On a desktop the card lands in your downloads folder. If it does not, check that the browser is not blocking downloads from the site, and try the other card shape. Failing all of it, copy the link and open your result on another device — the link carries the whole result and will redraw the same card there.

Billing, cancelling and refunds

Your Setlist is $6.99 a month or $39 a year and is billed by Stripe. To cancel, change your card or get a receipt, open the Stripe customer portal from the link on any of your emailed receipts — cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep the setlist until the period you paid for ends.

Part-used months and years are not refunded unless the law where you live requires it. If you think that is your situation, write to us and say so.

Writing to us

Email hello@fiftythreenorth.co. One person reads it, usually within a couple of days, and there is no ticket number.

Four things make an answer possible on the first reply: which browser and version you are using, whether it is a phone or a computer, what you did and what happened instead, and your result link if you got as far as a result. A screenshot beats a description every time.
